Saturday 25th July, we welcomed Hoddesdon, a newly promoted team into the Premier Division keen to make an impression. Who would have thought in January that our first home game would be in the July – better late than never.

Coming off a strong win last Saturday the 1st XI where confident and eager to continue to make a mark on what is shortened season.

Totteridge lost of the toss and put into bat, as the clouds circled it was evident the weather was going to make some form of impact on the game.

We started well reaching 96-2 on what was a good wicket at the Ridge. A combination of tight bowling and average batting resulted us being 155 all out, with 14.3 overs left in our innings. We headed into the break confident that if we took early wickets that was a total we could defend and make it 2 wins from 2 games. Mother nature had other ideas – the clouds opened, and play was abandoned without a ball being bowled in the 2nd innings.

Onto next week where we visit West Herts away…
