Welcome everyone to a long anticipated await to the 2020 season. I can say on behalf of the 1st XI and everyone at TMCC it is great to be back taking the field. From our point of view there was no better way to start.

We travelled to recently promoted Reed CC who were keen on putting their stamp on the Premier League. It was very close to a complete performance from us. We lost the toss and bowled first – managing to restrict Reed to 182. We bowled incredibly well as a unit with the wickets being shared around (Joe Wray 2-31/ Ben Lederman 3-30/ Shaun O’Brien 3-24/ Iresh Saxena 2-22). Having Reed 80-6 we would have hoped to restrict them for slightly less than 182 but on a good wicket we would have bitten your hand of for this at the start of play.
With the bat there we two good performances from Ben Howgego and Shaun O’Brien (45 and 39 respectively). We chased the 182 set by Reed in 29.5 overs with the loss of 6 wickets. We can be very happy as team to start the 2020 in a positive way and look forward to carrying the momentum into next week.
