515 runs and the last wicket pair clinch it for 2s

First of all congratulations to A Rashid of Chipperfield Clarendon who hit 10 x 6 and 9 x 4 in his massively hard-hitting 127. It's true that he was dropped 5, or was it 6, times, which might have made for a very different game especially if some of those early chances had been taken.
With 5 bowlers Riz rang many changes, and uniquely in his TMCC experience, Eklavya took the new ball, and made an early breakthrough. His second wicket was the most spectacular, a superb caught-and-bowled when the batsman was expecting a flat 6 to smash into the sightscreen. Chapeau, X!
X nearly took another, slightly less difficult, C&B, but when Rashid fell to a catch by Sam at long on, the bowlers and fielders did well to restrict the scoring rate in the final overs. As we have learned this season, 257 is by no more than a par score, and with a long batting line-up the 2s felt they could manage this.
And so they did, aided by a superb start from Nick who clattered 14 from the first over, Sam, who continued the excellent impression he is making with the bat (25), Krunal, 37, and a dent in the author's car, Charlie, a very positive 29, and Neil with a welcome return to form (36).
At 226-8 however, things were looking a little dicey, but the calm heads of Adnan, with 30, Riz, and possibly the best no.11 in the League, Sharky, saw us home in a hushed atmosphere at the Ridge. The hush was broken when Le Shark crashed an extra cover drive to the fence and an excellent game drew to a close with a superb win.
