Yet again batting in the top 3 proves a tough job, the middle order flourishes, and the tail wags (a bit)

Jonny Lubin cemented his allrounder reputation with a hard-hitting 58 (9x4, 1x6) with superb support from Kasra Daemi who added 40 (2x4, 1xsweetly timed 6) - debutant David 'Neil' Wagner kept it ticking over with many 1s and 2s in his 21, and two hearty biffs from Josh 'Battler' Brittan took us up to a very useful 176-9. Inpan pulled his groin quite badly, however, and though liberal application of ice helped he was sadly unable to take any further part in the match.

With a public-spirited Gayan Fernando filling in as sub fielder Brittan and Lyall took the new ball. Josh made it fly and Steve made it swing as the runs were dried up totally, though a few balls which stayed low went for byes (no blame at all attaching to keeper/skipper Ahsan!).
Steve took out both openers with offcutters and Josh bowled no.3 to leave LG way behind the runrate. Handsome bowling figures resulted, as per scorecard. Again the middle order was the only real source of real runs as Glasscoe hit cleanly, damaging Jonny and Eddie's figures, but 'pace off' via Nikeal (3-14) soon made the wickets tumble again.

Indika took a top juggling catch on the run and the tail swiftly followed, 'Indy' proving he is yet another allrounder to add value with bat, ball and in the field, his 6-2-6-2 having a certain symmetry. He even hit a couple of batsmen on the helmet and body though he will admit it was the pitch and not his searing pace that was responsible!

Anyway job done, a 5.20 finish and a refreshing drink on the terrace and on to the next one! Unbeaten!
