On an overcast Bank Holiday in Totteridge the ladies finally had a home victory! The first league match for TMCC was against Ickenham newcomers to the North London League.

Ickenham won the toss and decided to field. The accurate bowling from the opposition in the first few overs put paid to our batters one after the other. It was not looking good. After 2 overs Pat was unceremoniously heading to the changing rooms to be replaced by Julie. A nice steady pace tocked up nicely by Emma with solid support till the same bowler saw Julie off - Emma continued to add to the tally slowly but surely until running Aileen out with a great bit of fielding from Ickenham. Baywatch bowled and Tolly caught put pressure on us and out went Ciara to hold her own with Emma. After Ciara was bowled it was down to Zoe to bring home the bacon (sorry! what with the aporkalypse and all!!!).
A great partnership followed with Zoe hitting a tremendous 4 over the heads of the oppo fielders. Seeing Emma fall in the 20th over had Caz taking her guard against the demon bowler. Only to go for a run out! Kez saw us home with an outstanding 104 total. Great effort from all but especially Emma showing us how to do it.

A short break and TMCC take to the field. Caz opened bowling and true to form, was consistant and accurate as was Aileen at the other end. Our bowlers had them staying put and the runs stayed low. Aileen taking the first on lbw (How is she!) when out to the crease came their secret weapon - smashing the first ball for a mighty 4. Fortunately for us Kez was on form and sent the stumps flying. Taking a deep breath and change of bowlers Zoe and Tolly joined the fray. Kez keeping her cool and Emma and her mighty run up managing to keep it on target. The runs were kept down and we managed to keep an all time low wide margin giving us the upper hand. All bowlers, Caz, Tolly, Aileen, Emma, Kez and Zoe deserve a mention as the bowling was the best performance yet. Also, kudos to Julie keeping a tight and aggressive wicket - fantastic. The fielding kept any stray balls in play and looked tight and confident. A wonderful baywatch roll, a hot potato ball, a bum fall and a dodgy back were the trademark TMCC moments. Ickenham saw out the overs to reach 72 for 3 and in Ladies Cricket - We Won
