Match report The TMs promotion chances took a huge dent after a chastening four wicket defeat at Hitchin due to a disastrous batting performance.

On a stodgy pitch and in humid conditions Hitchin won the toss and elected to field. A reasonable opening stand of 32 was broken with the dismissal of Chris Mason (26) and thereafter followed one wicket after another, as apart from Javed Soomro (23), the TMs batting line up collapsed embarrassingly and were shot out for a paltry total of 76 in the 35th over.

As the Hitchin’s innings commenced an immediate breakthrough was made by Shaun O’Brien (13-2-41-4) and this was followed up by Hasan Mahmood (7-2-11-2) who with his new ball partner tore through the top order, at 15-4 the TMs really were in the hunt and when the opposition were reduced to 39-6 the visitors truly smelt blood. However that was as good as it was to get for the TMs as no more wickets fell and Hitchin reached the target in the 27th over.
