Match report The TMs applied further pressure on second place Berkhamsted in the race for Home Counties League promotion due to a crushing 7 wicket victory over St M at the Ridge.

In overcast conditions St M won the toss and elected to bat however within nine balls and with just one run on the board , the opener and the No 3 were back in the hutch due to a fine opening burst by Asif Sutaria (7-1-13-1) and Hasan Mahmood ( 7-3-27-1) . The 3rd wicket pair put on a steady 43 run partnership however that proved to be all the St M team could muster in way of a batting effort as the lethal partnership of speed and spin in the form of Dinesh Ramalingam ( 7-5-5-4) and Peter Such ( 7.3-2-24-4) steamrollered the opposition taking 8 wickets for 29 runs , leaving the visitors all out in the 29th over for the sum total of 73.

With rain threatening, an immediate turnaround ensued and captain Shaun O Brien ( 44) along with Chris Mason (12) decided that before any inclement weather could ruin the fine bowling performance they would aggressively hunt down the target. This they did with aplomb, in particular O Brien who hit 8 boundaries including 2 sixes off the 31 balls he faced resulting in the home team completing the victory in the 12th over
