Match report Following a week of pretty awful availability, Saturday saw a changed line-up with several of the mainstay of last year's 3rd XI comprising the middle order, and Stewie Wernham continuing to deputise behind the sticks.

Scouse admitted to 'forgetting to call' when the first coin was tossed, and apparently he would have won if only he'd remembered to shout heads. As it was the coin had to be re-thrown, he switched alliegances, and promptly lost as heads appeared again. What are the chances?

So we batted, and things started reasonably well, the openers doing a good, steady job. After the first wicket fell, the skipper joined Chris Mason at the crease and the pair proceeded to add 76 in 22 overs on a wet Knebworth wicket. At 107-1 things looked to be going well, but Chris sadly picked out deep midwicket on 43, and Scouse played around one from the useful Knebworth offie on 46. And unfortunately what followed wasn't pretty: 4 wickets in the space of 12 runs and all out in the 50th over for 164.

It was never likely to have been enough, and although there were some glimmers of hope, notably a tight opening spell from Hassan (6-3-14-0), and some good periods from Scouse (11-1-44-3) and Peter (17-2-55-2), enough of the Knebworth batsmen contributed to get them over the line in 41 overs, for the loss of 5 wickets.

All in all a bit of a disappointment, and one we hope won't be repeated.
