Match report TM 2s battled hard against league leaders Letchworth 2s but ultimately came up slightly short of the required victory. However, an 18 point return ( and restricting the oppo to 19) keeps the lads firmly in the hunt for Division 2 cricket.

Imran won the toss and contrary to previous form elected to bat, however, the innings got off to a bad start with the openers back in the changies by the 4th over. A sterling partnership by the two grandees of the team, Shakeel Durrani (40) and Javed Soomro (67) provided the base from which a 200+ target could be achieved and with notable contributions from Aleem Hussain (43)and Sameen Khan (26) this was duly done leading to a declaration in the 51st over with the score on 231-9.

On a wearing pitch it was decided to use the old ball and begin with spin, despite early breakthroughs by Imran Khan ( 16-3-48-2), it was not until the introduction of the new ball and Doug Pyrke ( 5-0-25-2)that the TMs began to make inroads into the visitors batting order with the score on 97-5 in the 20th over.

Unfortunately for the TMs the 6th wicket partnership proved difficult to dislodge and with 14 overs to go, 5 wickets in hand and 80 runs required the visitors were firmly in the game and sensing victory.

As the runs began to be knocked off Aleem Hussain ( 9-1-36-3) picked up a vital wicket and broke the troublesome 73 run partnership, Letchworth briefly continued the run assault but with the fall of the next wicket soon after, gave up, dropped anchor and settled for the draw.
