Match report tail wags the dog.....

On the hottest day of the year Imran won the toss and elected to bat. This decision was soon vindicated by the top order as Totteridge slumped to 80-7 despite some lusty blows by Shahid Ali. Rizwan (35) then set about the recovery task with a half century partnership with Jahinger (9) however Totteridge were still in plenty of trouble when he departed with the score on 150 - 9. However the Lazarus effect filtered down to the Khans with a 10th wicket stand of 92 (unbeaten) with Imran scoring 42* and Sameen 33* and a declaration in the 47th over with the total on 242-9.

A buoyant TMs looked forward to the SA innings however during the tea break the skys darkened and rain looked imminent. 17 overs were managed before the downpour arrived and all the best laid plans of bowling 3 spinners on a dusty wicket came to nought despite Imran picking up the openers and Rizwan the No 3.

Nevertheless as 40 overs were bowled in the 1st innings we had a 'match' and so the TMs gained 13 points with the opposition taking 9.

TMs remain within touching distance of the promotion places at the half way point of the season, the ambition of Division 2 still burns brightly....
