Match report Well that was a bit ugly.

We won the toss and put them in on a soft green track. Ben took an excellent catch standing back to Shahrukh. Ollie bowled well and took four wickets. Mark bowled tight. Steve took two wickets, though he had to bowl off a short run after a knee injury. But we dropped too many catches and gave away too many runs, well though their middle order batted.

The pitch dried out and one would have assumed that it would get easier. But their leggie turned it square and we rushed it too much, instead of keeping wickets in hand and getting properly 'in'. Again we failed to chase a reasonable total, and for the third time in a season in which, incredibly, we were promotion candidates before this match, we were bowled out for less than 75. Only 3 batsmen reached double figures, Mark (15) top scoring.

Obviously we'll never insert the opposition again, though with only 3 matches to go, we may not have the opportunity to act upon that.

A poor show.
