Match report TM2s faint promotion hopes end

On a very wet wicket the toss was always going to be crucial, especially as it was predicted to be hot for the rest of the day, unfortunately it went the way of Hertingfordbury who duly inserted us in.

Despite losing Warsi early , the trio of Amir , Matt and Aniket looked comfortable but having settled in, all were a little guilty of injudicious shot selection.....unfortunately that set the tone of the innings and it was only Safraz (who was run out) that can escape blame from a rather poor batting performance all around.

Defending 140 with the pitch drying out, Rizwan struck early to remove one of the openers but it took another 50 odd runs before the second wicket fell to Amir. Thereafter, despite a great effort by the bowling unit - with Waqar particularly unlucky with some very good appeals turned down and Arun evolving into a class spinner - Hertingfordbury finally surpassed the 140 target after 52 overs and some measure of luck.
