Match report Not sure we need to know much about this one, do we?

It was a bad toss to lose, as I think we could have put them under some decent pressure had we had first go in the field, but then with an under-strength batting line up we lost 3 or 4 batsmen to mishit full-tosses and 1 to a freakish catch off the back of the bat. The youngsters Andrew and, in particular, Neil, gave us some respectability, but all in all we made it impossible for ourselves.

We worked hard in the field, but the runs were never going to be enough. Moment of the day goes to Mr V-C for turning and giving the watching opposition the full 'w**ker' sign after being smashed into the stratosphere over his head by their classy opener. It was funny but, of course, not in any way condoned by the club, nosir, and rightly ended up costing him €10 in fines!!

First time out for the season, we were all acclimatising, and we can put it down to lack of practice. Bring on Day Two...
