Langleybury III v Totteridge Millhillians Cricket Club 4th XI on Sat 12 Jun 2010 at 1:00pm
Totteridge Millhillians Cricket Club Won by 3 wickets

Match report Another great performance from the 4s.

Roger, filling in as skipper again, won the toss and put them in. Aggression was going to be the watch word, with attacking fields and bowling. The skipper rallied the troops in his typical Barry Fry manner and off we went.

Siva struck early and Atif Malik bowled a good steady spell at the other end to ensure Langleybury didn't get the start they wanted.

When Roger took over from Atif, TM's really started to turn the screw.
The fielding and catching was very much improved and Mike Pratt took a couple of excellent catches off Siva, who took the first four wickets with some very good bowling.

A good partnership then developed between the one of the openers who was still in and 'stone-walling' and their number six who scored a quick and excellent 30. When Roger finally made the opener play an injudicious shot, Siva kept himself in the limelight with a fine catch. Roger then bowled a big in-swinger to remove the no. 6s middle stump, closely followed by an out-swinger which the no. 7 edged to the gully region and the ever reliable Mr. Dennison took yet another great gully catch.

Rakash then put in a great piece of fielding to run out the no. 8. and it was left to a tired Siva to collect his 5 for, and then make it a 6 for, by sending the last two guys back to the pavillion for his personal best figures of 20-7-52-6. Well done that man.

With 61 overs to bat, the watch word now became patience.
Mike Pratt went early, but Ket was looking solid and at the other end, Rakash was playing patiently and punishing the bad ball. When he went for 20 off 30 balls, with five fours, we were 33-2 and the problems started.

Langleybury bought on two accurate spinners, who removed Sanjay (6), Abhilash (0) and Ket for a well fought 23 off 71 balls. 62-5 and squeeky bum time.
Miles and Neil were in and with both having reputations of playing the odd silly shot, we were worried. Their battling partnership of 21 however took a huge amount of pressure off, until Neil (6 off 35 balls) slotted a full toss straight into mid offs hands. Joe Wray, making his debut for the fours, came in and looked tentative against the spinners.
Langleybury however, inexplicably brought back their seamers and just a few balls later, Joe was out for 10, but the score had flown to 100 and it was left to the excellent Miles (22*)and you guessed it...Siva....to seal the victory and collect another big 3-0.

Sixty points in two weeks, top of the table and everybody making contributions. Could this be a promotion year? Shush......
