Totteridge Millhillians Cricket Club 3rd XI v Preston II on Sat 10 Jul 2010 at 1:00pm
Totteridge Millhillians Cricket Club Lost by 9 wickets

Match report And we thought we knew what a humping on the cricket pitch looked like.

An understrength TMCC III side underperformed against a full strength Preston II side who played exceptionally well. A good, young seam attack started strongly and was well backed up by what appeared to be a handy, experienced Sri Lankan who EVEN managed to get Tony out for the first time since Thin Lizzy topped the hit parade.

Most of the Preston bowling would have been comfortably at home several divisions higher (and in fact had been for much of the season, according to their skipper), which contrasted with the TMCC batting effort, which at times would have been found wanting in the lower reaches of the Herts league.

Not even half the runs required on a beautiful, hot day at the Ridge, and Preston knocked them off with a minimum of fuss and a batting display to match the bowling. Game over before tea and red faces all round for the hosts.
