Match report T'was a tough result to stomach, this one.

Having won the toss, skipper Charlie took a gamble and opted to bowl on what the oppo skipper had confided was 'a road'. Some early uneven bounce appeared to dispell that notion, and gave TMCC every encouragement that we might roll them over for a low total. The cause was not helped by a drop of Robert Green-esque proportions by your author, the fortunate opener going on to make 50-odd before being snaffled behind, a great catch from Pratty off Arjun.

So, not the start we wanted, and the somewhat eccentric number 3 (quote of the day, after his partner had on-driven one between his legs: "Careful mate, you nearly knocked off my penis") played fluidly, albeit largely across the line, to record a good half century in no time.

A series of late wickets helped restrict Sandridge to 243-8, and when they declared an over early, on what had become a quick, flat deck and a lightning outfield, TMCC yet again felt they were in with an excellent chance.

But it wasn't to be, with a combination of a suddenly-popping wicket, some indecisive strokes, some very good, consistent catching and a nagging line and length from the star all-rounder number-3-cum-offie all coming together to knock TMCC over for very little.

With Charlie away, the third skipper of the season takes over on Saturday and hopes the responsibility will improve his eyesight and reactions.
