Match report Hat trick Noz leads the way...

With a hat trick in the 3rd over of the day Nozmul Hussain led the way with a 9 wicket victory against newly promoted Northampton Exiles in the season's opener for the 2s at Rowley Lane.

The Exiles never quite recovered from the devestation wrought by Noz (4-9) that had them reeling at 4-3 after they had been put in to bat. Rizwan Siddiqui (1-20)picked up the other opener and at 50-5 all seemed lost for the visitors.

Wayne Lawler (49) played watchfully and shared useful partnerships of 34 with David Taylor (13) and 37 with Adrian Browne (15) but the latter's dismissal to a slip catch was the signal for another collapse as Exiles lost their last 5 wickets for 19 runs to Steve Murdoch (2-20), skipper Imran Khan (2-18) and the returning Hussain to be dismissed for 105 in the 39th over. The Totteridge Millhillians batsmen raced to victory at 106-1 inside 17 overs, Murdoch (34*) being partnered first by Aleem Hussain (30) and then a destructive Scouse (37*) just as the first drops of rain arrived.
