Match report An imperious unbeaten 135 from the Wellington 'Bomber' Steve Murdoch has put the 1st XI in the top spot in division 1 following the side's thumping win over Old Finchleians. TMCC won the toss and batted declaring after 51 overs on 214 for 5. The home side suffered two early blows with the loss of both openers, Mahmood and Sutaria sharing the spoils. Although OF's fought back, at one point getting up with the run rate, both opening bowlers struck again to see off the challenge. OF's were all out for 130, with Sutaria taking 3 wickets, Mahmood,O'Brien and 'bomber' Murdoch taking two a piece. Bomber's innings was a masterclass in batting; apart from a dropped skier once he'd reached his maiden ton for the club, he was in complete control.Afterwards, in his modest way, Bomber simply said: 'It would be good to have a batting average.'
