Match report Cool....calm....and collected

TMs T20 boys eased to a 6 wicket victory with 5 balls to spare over local rivals Oakwood CC leaving our high summer showdown at 1-1.

Excellent opening bowling spells by 15 yr old Joe Wray and Doug Pyrke were followed up in similar fashion by Neil D, Sanjay P and Chris B. However the real cutting edge was provided by Dinesh R and Matt J who picked up four wickets in 18 balls between them including Oakwood's big hitting No3.

Oakwood eventually ended their innings with a run out and a total of 140-8 in their 20 overs.

TMs began their innings steadily with Jim Hutch and Dinesh going along at the 7 per over asking rate. With Jim's departure for 17 , Dinesh unleashed a furious assault reulting in four consecutive boundaries includng a massive six crashing through a car's windscreen ( memo to drivers - do not park next to the sightscreens!!).

With Dinesh's demise,Pablo joined Rizwan at the crease and with the run rate a run a ball the pair steadily chipped away at the target, with 6 needed off the last over Oakwood thought they had a sniff however with a perfect sense of theatre and immaculate timing Matt John deposited the first ball over midwicket and onto the covers to finish the match with aplomb.
